The Boat Tour

At the end of the first day of the conference, 21 June, we will take a tour through the harbor of Copenhagen by boat. The large Netto Boat has room for almost 150 people and will show us some of the beautiful sights of Copenhagen, viewed from the water.

The boat will pick us up at Stormbroen right in front of the National Museum of Denmark, and we will be dropped off at Amaliehaven, which is at walking distance from The Royal Cast Collection, the location of our conference reception. After the reception, the boat will be waiting for us to bring us to our final destination for the day and drop us off at Danneskiold-Samsøes Allé. From here, the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation will be in walking distance, which is where we will have our conference dinner.


The Reception

During the boat tour on the 21st of June, we will have a stop for our conference reception. The reception will take place at The Royal Cast Collection, also called “The Westindian Warehouse”, located at Toldbodgade 40 in Copenhagen. Originally the warehouse was built to accommodate sugar and rum, but in 1984 the Royal Cast Collection moved in and turned the warehouse into an exhibition space. At the collection we will enjoy a glass of wine, while one of our colleagues from Statens Museum for Kunst, Henrik Holm, gives us a tour along some of the casts.


The Dinner

At thefinal stop of our boat tour on the 21st of June, our conference dinner will take place. The dinner will be held at the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts, Schools of Architecture, Design, and Conservation. The dinner will be organised by the school’s caterer, Simply Cooking, which has prepared a lovely 3-course meal for us based on seasonal ingredients.
